Delivers In Ways 50 Shades Never Could...

This book was a pleasant surprise for me. I knew it would be sexy. I knew I'd root for Monica, the heroine. One look at that cover told me there'd be some hot sex. But the writing ... I didn't count on such excellent writing. This book is clever, engaging, sharp and sexy. Quite often when I read erotic romances, I feel a little guilty by the end. The term "guilty pleasure" comes to mind. But not after reading this book. It's a legitimate novella in its own right, the story of a deeply passionate attraction between Monica, a singer/waitress, and Jonathan, a hot, very dominant male who can make proud, self-reliant Monica beg for it. I ate up every word and can't wait for the next book in the series. PS -- Jonathan is a ginger, how cool is that? Ginger pride!

hesitant at first..so glad I did

I really enjoyed this novella. I was hesitant to get the book because I honestly could not stand 50 shades. Everyone talking about how hot 50 shades was and I was torturing myself to get through book 1!. Never even contemplated getting the other books. So when Beg popped up on my Amazon page, I almost zipped right past it. So glad it was free! Because I honestly wouldn't have paid for it. Now, I'm definitely paying for the remaining books. The writing was very good and I am surprised at how fast you come to enjoy and get to know the characters! The story developed smoothly and quickly and yes it is steamy! I would definitely recommend this book. Think of it this way- what do you have to lose- it's free! I guarantee you will be hooked!

I am in love with Monica and Jonathan!

I loved this novella because it was well written and had a plot. Hell, I love steamy scenes as much as the next person but this story blew me away. I love the MC was tough and not a pushover. Monica is no Mary Sue and she is sure to let the world know it. Sure, she falls for a handsome guy (with red hair so that was a nice touch because I think a man with any natural color of hair can be sexy...he doesn't have to be dark haired or a blond).
However, her career is important to her and while she may be a mere cocktail waitress, her passion is music and I loved she had a goal in life. This is one series I will definitely be following and I adore the way CD Reiss weaves this story. It is multi-layered and multi-faceted. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for tasteful erotic romance that is beautifully written and has a wonderful back story, great characters (not just Monica and Jonathan but EVERY character comes to life and there are no cardboard cutouts).
P.S. Major plus for the setting of Los Angeles. I lived there for six years and this story brings back a lot of memories.
