According to Wikipedia and other sources, 'The Plant' by Stephen King is an unfinished serial novel. Apparently, Mr. King started the project as an experiment in Ebook distribution and promised to abandon it if 'honor payments' for each chapter fell below 75%.

I have no idea where the finished copy I recently read came from but the kindle Ebook that I read had an ending.
There is no doubt that this may have been some fan's attempt to finish the project. I have read other 'bogus' versions of well known writer's works and only suspected they weren't on the up and up when things went way off the rails.

Regardless, the premise of a plant that brings luck, both good and bad to a struggling publishing house is / was a stretch even for Mr. King. I have read many of King's books. Many have been good. Many great. A few...massively over-rated.

This one? It has never had a reason to exist. A horrible premise. A total waste of time. Mr. King should have known better.
